The existence of the company began in the 20s of XX century. At that time it was the company Swallow Sidecar, and produced strollers for motorcycles. This did not bring much income, and then the company changed its specialization to the production of components for Austin 7.

After a large order in 1927, the income allowed the company to expand its production and manufacture components for the models Fiat 509A, Morris Cowley, Wolseley Hornet, and then began to design and develop new car models.

The Jaguar SS90 and Jaguar SS100 models, named after company founder William Lyons, became very popular.

In the middle of XX century the company changed its name to Jaguar, as the initials of the SS company were associated after the war with the Nazi regimes.
