If Network Options are enabled, the GTA 2 Title Screen offers two special options: Network Game Management and Network Game Connection.
Network game management
One player in each multiplayer game must act as manager; the others must join the game.
- Select Network Game Management.
- Choose a character.
- Choose a multiplayer experience: Mortal Encounter or Staged Game.
A Deadly Clash involves killing all other players in every possible way. You can win a Deadly Clash in two ways: Score or Kill; use the arrows to set the score or kills (of competitors, not of passers-by).
The winner is the one who reaches the score or the number of kills required first. The Stadium Game hasn’t changed, but there are many hunters and only one prey. If you’re the prey, you’ll have to run through the city to escape your enemies at all costs.
When someone kills you, he becomes the prey and you the hunter.
Network game connection
Select Connect to network game.
- Choose a character.
- Select a game from the list of available sessions.
- Play to win.
Note: In an IPX or TCP/IP multiplayer game, the game starts when there are 4 players or when the Manager presses the Enter key; in a serial or modem game, the game starts when two players are connected.
To send a message to your opponent, first press the corresponding button, from F1 to F3 (F4 sends the message to all players).
