Delta (originally Northwest) operated the 747-400 from 1989 up to 2017, mainly flying to many of their Asian destinations such as Tokyo (Narita) and Seoul, and for many years it was their flagship. They were replaced by Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
This 747 in particular, N661US, was the very first 747-400 built and delivered to an airline, it was also the aircraft involved in Northwest Airlines Flight 85 incident, it today rests preserved at the Delta Flight Museum.
