Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick is currently in a talking mood. Just a week ago, he spoke to investors about his expectations for the new PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles.
Now the head of the Rockstar Games mother gave an interview to the US TV station NBC in which he talked about the graphic possibilities of the upcoming Playstation and Xbox generation and upcoming titles like GTA 6.
In the NBC interview, which was actually about gun violence and video games, Strauss Zelnick commented on the next-gen consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X. In his opinion, the new consoles would enable the photorealistic graphics that have long been invoked.
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X
The enormous power of Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X (Also Known as Xbox Scarlett) would enable the developers to realize creative ideas that would have been impossible to realize until now.
“We will reach a point where you can no longer tell the difference between what is created in the computer and reality,”
Strauss Zelnick
Said in an interview with NBC. While the Take Two CEO added that photorealistic graphics are not the goal of every title, he also said that it is important to have the best possible quality.
Take-Two brands like Bioshock or Borderlands would rather aim for stylized graphics that would also benefit from the higher performance of Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X.
Titles with a more realistic approach like NBA 2K, Red Dead Redemption 2 or GTA 6 would look “really like live-action” thanks to the hardware power.
Grand Theft Auto 6 has not been officially announced yet. But it is considered certain that the successor of the mega successful GTA 5 will be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X. Both consoles are expected for 2020.
