GTA Vice City Stories features some multiplayer-based missions, thanks to the wireless capabilities of the PsP console. There are ten modes in all, and you’ll find a description for each of them below.
There are also some “bonuses” such as invisibility in the radar, “mega-damage”, infinite racing and others. in the mini-map at the bottom left of the screen will be marked enemies and any bonuses.
Bonus & Power-up
During the multiplayer game you will find different bonuses and power ups that will allow you to gain advantages over the enemies.
- Health: recover 100% health.
- Invisibility in radar: makes the player invisible to opponents (but only in the minimap).
- Mega-Damage: quadruples the damage that can be caused to opponents and quadruples the points received.
- Glued Tires: Tire grip is improved on all vehicles where the player will get on.
- Instant repair: the vehicle is repaired instantly.
- Violence: the player is equipped with a grenade launcher with endless ammunition.
Vice City Survivor
It’s the typical death match all against all, in which for every killing you will earn a point, while you will lose one for every killing suffered. All players have the bonus of the infinite race: will win whoever manages to reach a certain number of kills or whoever has scored more points at the end of time.
Street Rage
This mission is to complete a race all against all: whoever places himself in first place, of course, will win. In the event that a player will walk or die, after a few seconds will be brought back into a vehicle, ready to start again. It is also possible to shoot other players from the vehicle.
Street Rage mode is a race through checkpoints. The player is allowed to change vehicle and shoot the opposing vehicles to win the race. Players will be returned to the circuit in a car after a short period of time if they remain on foot or die. The player who finishes the race in first place wins the challenge.
Protection Racket
This mode consists of a sort of team attack-defense, in which players will have to protect their base and attack the enemy base.
The first team to destroy the opposing team’s vehicles first (while defending their own) will be the winner of the first round. The time taken by the winners will become a sort of countdown for the other team in the second round: if the team manages to destroy the vehicles of the opponents before the end of time will be the winner of the challenge.
Taken for a Ride
This mode is a sort of “Capture the Flag”: it consists in trying to steal the opponent’s vehicles and bring them inside your lair, while defending their vehicles. In the event that one of the vehicles is abandoned in the playing area, after a few seconds will reappear in the lair of the team that had lost him.
The team that manages to steal more cars or reach the minimum score, will be the winner of the challenge.
Tanks for the Memories
At the start of the mode, one of the randomly chosen players will have to drive a tank (Rhino), while the other players, with weapons including a bazooka, will have to try to destroy it or deflect as much damage as possible.
Anyone who manages to spend more time inside the tank (and at the same time suffers less total damage) will be the winner of the challenge.
Hit List
A player is chosen as the target and the remaining players must hunt him down: whoever manages to kill him will take his place. The one who stays alive the longest will win.
Grand Theft Auto
In this mode you will be dealing with car theft: the goal is to steal the car that will be assigned to us and take it to the garage for compensation. The more damage you cause to the vehicle, the lower the compensation. The player with the most money at the end of the game wins.
Empire Take down
Each team will have a building under their control and only one load of explosives will appear in an area of the map to be used to blow up the opposing building. The winner is the one who succeeds in detonating the bomb in the enemy’s building, preventing it from being defused.
Might of the Hunter
The style of play of this mode is very similar to Tanks for the Memories: the only difference is that instead of the Rhino we will have to take over a Hunter.
V.I.P. R.I.P.
Players are divided into two teams, attackers and defenders: a random player chosen from the team of defenders will be the V.I.P.
The V.I.P.’s objective is to collect 5 suitcases without being killed: if he manages to escape, the team of the defenders will win, otherwise that of the attackers.
